Step Change in Safety is pleased to announce three new appointments to its Board and Leadership Team.

Mark Hobbs joined px Group as Managing Director, Offshore Oil & Gas in April 2020. Prior to px Group, Mark spent over 17 years at Apache in the UK and Canada, becoming VP for North Sea Region Operations and Projects. He has also worked for bp and British Gas and has more than 25 years’ experience across a variety of engineering, technical and operations management roles. Mark is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow with the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He’s also a former member of Step Change in Safety’s Leadership Team.
Commenting on his appointment to the Board of Step Change in Safety, Mr Hobbs said; "I look forward to working with members of the Board to make a difference, engaging with others as we continue the journey to make our industry the safest in the world."
Joining the Leadership Team is Sarah Cridland, VP Commercial & Subsea Projects UK, Mediterranean & Caspian and Country Manager UK, TechnipFMC. Sarah took up her current role in November 2020 and has a wide range of experience across all aspects of TechnipFMC’s Subsea business, in local and global roles. These included leading the umbilical manufacturing division, a multi-geographical business with plants in the UK, US and Angola; VP Subsea Tendering with global responsibility for all commercial tendering activities; and most recently, as Vice President of the company’s fleet division responsible for the (QHSES, financial and operational) performance of TechnipFMC’s global fleet of vessels.
Also joining the Leadership Team is Ronnie Kelman, Business Director Offshore and Remote, ESS Support Services Worldwide. Ronnie has three decades of experience in the catering and support services sector of the energy industry. He has a Diploma in Hospitality and spent the first 10 years of his career working offshore as a steward, chef and then manager before moving into Operational roles both locally and across the globe. In 2013 Ronnie was appointed as Business Director for ESS’ and currently has responsibility for over 700 people that deliver offshore and onshore support services for ESS’ clients. Ronnie is an ex-chairman and active member of COTA who have nominated him to be their appointed representative on the Step Change in Safety Leadership Team.
