Managing occupational health risks is challenging, partly because of the latency between exposure to the health hazard and the onset of its effect or illness. This toolkit is a method to review companies' occupational health management systems.

The assessment tool consists of a two-tiered questionnaire enabling an independent assessment of the workplace health management arrangements, and provides an indication of compliance with legislation and best practice. The two sections address the management and operational processes that are necessary to achieve adequate risk control. A simple scoring method measures the levels of knowledge and understanding of health risk management.
